BMW’s most powerful flagship SUV XM production version patent declaration

Recently, a group of BMW XM production versions of the patent map has been exposed, by the BMW M department’s independent research and development to build the flagship high-performance SUV finally to formal production, it is reported that the car will be introduced into the domestic market. From the patent drawings, the production version of the model inherited the design of the concept car, but also removed some over-exaggerated designs, such as the most controversial “big nostril” design, the double kidney grille in the network has obviously become smaller, of course, in the BMW family is still very “amazing “.

Unlike the concept car, the production version of the XM uses BMW’s latest split headlights, with daytime running lights at the top and high and low beams at the bottom, which are quite similar to the new 7 Series.

Although the shadow of the concept car can still be seen, but the production version of the side shape is relatively much more restrained, such as the use of the traditional shape of the door handles, rearview mirror style has also become more conventional.

At the rear, the distinctive polygonal exhaust port with longitudinal placement on both sides has been retained, which also highlights the car’s sense of identity and uniqueness.

The interior of the production version of the XM is temporarily unknown and is expected to be equally close to the design of the concept car. The car is designed with a full LCD instrument panel connected to the center control screen, and is equipped with the latest iDrive 8 system, the area of the center control panel is very designed, and a large number of leather fabrics are added to reflect the sense of luxury. The production version is expected to give up some exaggerated design in the seat design.

It is understood that the BMW XM will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system based on a 4.4T V8 twin-turbo engine with a maximum power of 551 kW (749 hp), peak torque of 1,000 Nm and a combined range of 80 km in pure electric mode.

The new car will be officially mass-produced this year, and if it goes well, it is expected to go on sale by the end of the year, when it will compete with high-performance SUVs such as the Audi RS Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.
