BlackBerry QNX will power China’s futuristic EV Saloon the NETA S

HOZON automobile manufacturing company have chosen the BlackBerry QNX as the security system for their coming EV. This announcement came a few days ago, and the two companies are working tirelessly to bring their dream to reality. But, how will this partnership benefit HOZON’s NETA Auto and their coming electric vehicle?

This partnership will revolve around BlackBerry’s core operation, security and reliability. The BlackBerry QNX will ensure the owners of this vehicle once it is available the necessary cybersafety in what the company calls a “digital-first driving experience”. The NETA S will not be the first vehicle to make use of this security system from BlackBerry.

Over the years, BlackBerry has worked to make this security system as secure as they know how. Their success with the QNX makes it a go-to for security needs for over 215 million vehicles. Up to three packages from the BlackBerry QNX package will be put into use with the coming NETA S. All three packages will perform various tasks to ensure user security in the coming electric vehicle.

Out of all three systems, the Neutruno RTOS and Hypervisor will help keep the intelligent software on the cockpit safe from attacks. The NETA PILOT 3.0 will get some security support from the QNX OS for safety to ensure no security compromise will affect the system. BlackBerry says that this partnership will bring “next-generation” intelligence to the cockpit and driver assistant system. But why do cars need cybersecurity systems?

The growing intelligence and software capabilities of these vehicles make them more vulnerable to cyberattacks. At this stage in the automobile industry, security is becoming a core feature of newer cars (hybrid and EVs). To help improve security on their coming EV, NETA Auto chose the BlackBerry QNX system.
