The Bentley brand recently released the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase Mulliner version. Extraordinary craftsmanship, the price in the UK starts at 254,000 pounds (Note: the current price is about 2.362 million RMB).
Mulliner, the personalized customization department of Bentley, has carefully designed many exclusive features for the whole car inside and outside. The rear cabin provides two layouts of 4 seats and 4+1 seats. Mulliner’s Harmony Diamond Quilt on the doors creates an air of sophistication throughout the cabin interior.
The Bentayga long-wheelbase Mulliner version is equipped with a Bentley 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 550 horsepower, a peak torque of 770 Nm, a maximum speed of 290 km/h, and an acceleration time of 4.6 seconds from 100 km/h. The new car’s chassis is equipped with Bentley’s dynamic driving system (48V active anti-roll control system), all-wheel steering function and three-chamber air springs. Officials say its dynamic performance is comparable to that of the standard wheelbase Bentayga.
Bentayga Long Wheelbase MULLINER Edition exterior design details include Mulliner-exclusive 22-inch wheels in Polished or Gray Polished finish, with self-forming hubcaps that keep the logo on the hubcaps stationary while the car is in motion.
In addition, customers can choose the Mulliner Blackline Specification after the launch of the new car. This kit replaces all the chrome trims on the exterior of the body except for the Bentley logo and the housings of the exterior mirrors with the same glossy black trim, together with the 22-inch glossy black Mulliner wheels to create a dark and deep vehicle appearance.
Entering the cockpit of Bentley Bentayga Long Wheelbase Mulliner Edition, the first thing that catches the eye is the Mulliner three-dimensional illuminated door panel and Mulliner dark pile carpet. The cockpit interior offers a choice of eight three-color color schemes carefully designed by the Mulliner team. The three colors in the color scheme are applied to the main leather, auxiliary leather and accent leather respectively. This is Mulliner’s signature exclusive configuration specially designed for the flagship models of Bentley models.
Eight three-color color schemes correspond to their respective themes, including the “Flare” theme color consisting of Hotspur, Beluga and Linen, and the dark blue, black and like The “Storm” (Storm) theme is composed of white accent colors that cut through the night sky lightning. In addition, customers can choose any three colors to personalize the Mulliner color scheme for the interior of their Bentley, with a total of nearly 4,000 color combinations.
Seat leather features a refined Mulliner comfort-inspired diamond quilting pattern consisting of alternating lines of auxiliary leather and accent colour, as well as Mulliner logo embroidery on the seat surface. The doors are trimmed with alternating lines of main leather and accent colours.
The Bentley Bentayga Long Wheelbase Mulliner Edition features olive tanned leather throughout the cabin. This leather is unique in that it is tanned sustainably with tanning agents made from organic by-products of the olive oil industry. Extracted from the waste water from the olive pressing process, this tanning agent is free of harmful metals, minerals and aldehydes. The process also uses less water than conventional tanning and produces a higher concentration of recycled chemicals.
Whether customers opt for 4 or 4+1 seating, the Bentayga Long Wheelbase Mulliner Edition comes standard with the Bentley Aviation Grade Seat Package. The seat package has 22-way adjustable function, has the world’s first automatic temperature sensing and comfortable massage function. In Relax mode, the seat can be reclined to nearly 40 degrees, while the front passenger seat moves forward at the same time, with a fine leather-trimmed footrest that flares out from the plinth behind the front seat. When switching to business mode (Business mode), the rear seats return to an upright position, providing a more comfortable office space in the car. The automatic temperature sensing function can sense the passenger’s body temperature and body surface humidity, and then automatically adjust the heating and ventilation function of the seat to ensure that passengers maintain a comfortable and pleasant riding state throughout the journey.
The comfortable massage function is equipped with new high-sensitivity massage airbags, which can sense the pressure changes of passengers’ legs, shoulders and waist, so as to cooperate with the fine-tuning of the surface contour of the seat to relieve passengers’ body pressure and fatigue. Another highlight of the Bentayga Long Wheelbase Mulliner Edition is the elegant and eye-catching Bentley Diamond Illumination package. In order to create an exquisite lighting atmosphere inside the car, 12 LED light groups are built in each of the front doors, and 22 are built in each of the rear doors. The entertainment system and touch-screen remote controls control the brightness and color of the light.
The Mulliner Edition also gets a rear-wheel steering system, which enables a 7 percent smaller turning circle than the standard-wheelbase Bentayga.
Mulliner has become an integral element of Bentley’s business: its return on sales rose to 20.9 percent last year, up from 13.7 percent in 2021. Bentley attributes this to customers opting for higher-spec models – such as the Mulliner and Speed versions – and higher option rates. Bentley breaks its all-time profit record in 2022 thanks to the aforementioned factors, as well as a record 15,174 sales.
