Quantron AG issued a press release announcing that its partnership with Ballard Power Systems, an innovative fuel cell and clean energy solutions provider, is entering the next stage. The two companies jointly delivered the first fuel-cell electric vehicle.

It is noted from the press release that the core of Canada’s hydrogen energy cooperation agreement with Germany is to integrate Ballard’s high-performance FCmove fuel cell modules into QUANTRON vehicles, including the 44-ton QUANTRON QHM FCEV hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty truck and QUANTRON QLI FCEV light truck. Both zero-emission vehicles have a significantly longer driving range and shorter refueling times than purely electric models.

It is understood that European customers have received the first batch of five units, one of which has completed 15,000 kilometers of daily operation during trial operation with the customer.
Tim Sautter, Q-Light Team Lead and Corporate PM, said: “We are very proud to have achieved this important milestone together with Ballard. The collaboration between the engineering teams in Augsburg (Bavaria) and Vancouver (Canada) has been excellent . We shortened the entire process from feasibility study to delivery to 18 months, getting the QUANTRON QLI FCEV on the road and delivered to customers in record time.”
