ASUS ROG Phone 8 Series Renderings Revealed, With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chip

The Asus ROG Gaming 8 series phones were officially announced to be released on January 16 next year. The foreign technology media Windows Report shared the renderings and specifications of the series of phones in advance.

Design

When it comes to design, ASUS ROG gaming phones usually come with lots of RGB lighting, futuristic shapes, and gaming-specific ergonomics.

However, the ASUS ROG Gaming 8 series phones are significantly different from the previous generation. They are relatively more in line with the mainstream aesthetics and adopt a tougher square design.

In this revelation, two models of ASUS ROG Gaming 8 and 8 Pro were shared. The 8 has a matte spray paint, which makes it more grippy to hold; while the 8 Pro has a glossy back, making the overall look more elegant.
Screen

The ASUS ROG Gaming 8 series phones feature a straight-screen design on the front. The 8 Pro supports HDR10, has a peak screen brightness of 2,500 nits, and is equipped with a center-punch front camera.

Camera

Both the ASUS ROG Gaming 8 and 8 Pro models feature three cameras on the back, housed in an irregular pentagonal raised unit.

Specification

Based on the source information, summary of the specifications of the two phones as follows:

Accessories

As usual, the Asus ROG Gaming 8 series phones come with some gamer-specific accessories.

DEVILCASE Guardian

One of them is the DEVILCASE Guardian, a phone case that supports the AeroActive Cooler X.

When the heatsink is not in use, you can install the clear back panel and still see the RGB lighting.

AeroActive Cooler X

The AeroActive Cooler X doesn’t change much from last year, retaining the design and RGB lighting.

Users can still connect it via USB-C on the side, and if you’re using a DEVILCASE, the back panel can be removed to access the cooler.

You can also use it as a holder for your phone.

Clean water protective cover

Asus officially also launched a transparent case with raised corners.

Other accessories

ASUS will also launch a TPU case and an antimicrobial screen protector.
