The development board products at the Embedded World 2023 (International Embedded Exhibition) in Germany, one of which is particularly eye-catching Tinker V, which is ASUS’s first RISC -V architecture development board (formerly ARM architecture).
RISC-V is an open instruction set architecture (ISA) based on the principle of reduced instruction set computing (RISC), which can be applied to required devices for free. Because of its openness, low power consumption and other advantages, it has been widely used in the IoT field, and ASUS is the latest to join.
ASUS Tinker V is equipped with a 64-bit RISC-V processor – Renesas RZ / Five, with 1GHz single-core Andes AX45MP, so the performance is not very strong. The board also has 1GB of DDR4 memory onboard, a microSD card slot, and optional 16GB eMMC modules and SPI flash.

Asustek said that the development board supports Debian and Yocto Linux operating systems.
