Nvidia released RTX 40 series graphics cards and ASUS also released the ROG Strix RTX 4090 graphics card flagship model.
The ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 is described as being designed for ultra-high resolution or ultra-fast refresh rates and features a 3.5 slot design with a built-in die-cast metal frame, shroud and backplate to prevent PCB sagging or warping.
Officially, ROG has redesigned the cooler from the ground up, featuring a new heat sink with 30% more surface area for cooling than the previous generation ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090. Four 8mm and three 6mm heatpipes are built in for 5°C lower temperatures when subjected to 500 W of thermal load.
ROG has also upgraded the Axial-tech fan with a thicker design featuring seven blades that provide 23.8% more airflow and 19.3% more pressure than the previous generation fan used on the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090.
In addition, ASUS also announced the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, 3.65 slots thick, also with the latest cooling system.
