According to foreign media motor1, Aston Martin’s first plug-in hybrid supercar Valhalla has been tested at the Silverstone track later this month. What was unveiled this time was a prototype car that is about to be mass-produced. According to the official previous plan, the new car will be put into production next year, with a limited edition of 999 units worldwide.
This hybrid supercar is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine and is equipped with three electric motors – two on the front axle and one integrated in the transmission, with a total output of 998 horsepower. At the same time, the motor located on the front axle can achieve torque vectoring and can even be used as a reverse gear.
The car will be equipped with all-wheel drive as standard, and its appearance includes a very large adjustable rear wing and a large number of active aerodynamic devices. Aston Martin said that these new cars will be the first step towards “full electrification”, and they have completed hundreds of hours of aerodynamic testing in the wind tunnel with engineers from the brand’s Formula One team. .
As previously reported, Aston Martin announced earlier this year that starting from 2026, the company’s current Vantage, DB12 and DBS models will also launch electrified versions.
“Our electrification journey will begin with Valhalla, our first plug-in hybrid supercar,” company chairman Laurence Stroll announced in an accompanying statement. The extension of the hybrid model range to our core models will bridge the transition for customers from internal combustion engines to fully electric vehicles.”
