ASRock PCIe 5.0 SSD launches with in-built cooler for new generation motherboards

ASRock has now launched a PCIe 5.0 SSD cooler for its new generation of AMD and Intel motherboards with a small built-in fan design.

As shown in the picture above, ASRock’s PCIe 5.0 SSD cooler is available in various styles to suit different styles of motherboards. Its built-in small fan can achieve 4.92cfm airflow.

Below are the supported motherboard models for this cooler.

At AMD’s launch event in August, AMD confirmed that PCIe 5.0 will not be available at the same time as the launch of the Riptide 7000, but will be available starting in November.

PCIe 5.0-related technology vendors working with AMD include Qunar, Micron, ASUS, Corsair, etc. PCIe 5.0 SSDs are expected to be supported by both AMD and Intel’s next-generation platforms when they hit the market in November.

The SSD test models equipped with the Qunar E26 PCIe 5.0 host chip can already reach ultra-fast read speeds of 10 GB/s. Now, manufacturers are validating a new generation of materials and NAND flash particles to further increase overall performance to over 12 GB/s read speeds.

PCIe 5.0 SSDs are currently known to be available in the common 2280 form factor, the wider 2580 form factor, and the longer and wider 25110 form factor, and AMD’s new X670 motherboard has confirmed support for all three sizes of PCIe 5.0 SSDs.
