Smart home accessories manufacturer Aqara at CES 2023 announced several new devices that support features such as HomeKit Secure Video and Home Key in Apple’s wallet.
The Video Doorbell G4 is compatible with HomeKit secure video and local streaming to Amazon and Google smart display devices and will support the Matter protocol when the specification is officially ready for cameras. The doorbell features native AI facial recognition to trigger specific automated actions, as well as optional local storage via a microSD card slot. Battery power is also supported, as well as wired power.
The Smart Door Lock U100 is Aqara’s first fixed-bolt lock that supports HomeKit and the Home Key feature in the Apple Wallet app on iPhone and Apple Watch, allowing the iPhone and Apple Watch to be used as a door key to easily unlock the home. In addition to Home Key, users can use the built-in fingerprint recognition, digital passcode, Aqara app and NFC card, and mechanical key for authentication. It uses the Zigbee protocol and supports Matter.
In addition to the visual doorbell G4 and the smart door lock U100, Aqara has also released the electronic sensor FP2 and the LED Strip T1 with HomeKit and Matter support.
