Apple launched the Vision Pro headset at WWDC23, which can provide virtual reality and augmented reality experience. Vision Pro is characterized by a modular design, which can be adjusted according to the user’s head shape and facial features, in order to achieve the best wearing comfort and visual effects.
According to PatentlyApple, today the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published an Apple patent application that describes a number of possible future “accessory” components for the Vision Pro that could be attached to the Vision Pro in a modular system to enhance its functionality and performance.
According to the patent, accessory devices and/or external devices could be easily attached to the Vision Pro to provide different components and features to meet different user needs and preferences. For example, users can choose to add components such as speakers, cameras, sensors, displays, touch sensors, biosensors, and more, depending on their scenarios and uses.
The patent application gives an example of an accessory device, as shown above. This accessory device could be a speaker that could be attached to the Vision Pro, presented as a curved component that could be wrapped around the user’s neck and used to enhance the Vision Pro’s audio experience.
