According to the latest list published by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained patent No. US 20230195237 A1, which demonstrates the interactive experience of using a gesture navigation user interface.
Apple believes that most of the current gesture navigation interfaces are cumbersome and inefficient, sometimes requiring multiple clicks, wasting user time, and for mobile devices, more importantly, it affects battery life.
Apple’s patent involves iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, using screen generation components and optical sensors to provide users with faster and more efficient gesture navigation methods and interactive experiences, supplementing or replacing mainstream gesture navigation user interfaces.
Such an approach and interface reduces the cognitive load on the user and results in a more efficient human-machine interface, Apple said. For battery-operated computing devices, these methods and interfaces can save power and increase battery life.
