Apple’s latest MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch models with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips now support HDMI 2.1 ports, a major upgrade over previous products.
Previously on the 2021 MacBook Pro models, the HDMI 2.0 port supported only a single 4K display with refresh rates up to 60Hz. 4K displays up to 240Hz.

M2 Pro and M2 Max are professional-grade notebook chips that lead the way in performance and power efficiency,” Apple said. Powered by these chips, MacBook Pro handles performance-critical professional tasks up to six times faster than MacBook Pro with the fastest Intel chips, such as rendering special effects up to six times faster and color correction up to two times faster. And thanks to the power efficiency of Apple chips, MacBook Pro delivers record battery life of up to 22 hours on Mac models. The new MacBook Pro also features enhanced connectivity with high-speed Wi-Fi for up to twice the connection speed of its predecessor and advanced HDMI port support for 8K displays for the first time. The MacBook Pro also features a Liquid retina XDR display, a wealth of connectivity options, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a six-speaker sound system and a studio-quality microphone to bring out the best in unparalleled features.
