The new Apple iPhone 14 Pro can also achieve higher 5G network speeds than the iPhone 13 Pro, according to a comparison test conducted by SpeedSmart.

SpeedSmart’s tests were conducted using the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro. SpeedSmart compared the 5G speeds of two major US carriers, T-Mobile and Verizon. The results show that the Apple iPhone 14 Pro has 38% faster 5G download speeds than the previous generation iPhone.

The improvement in upload speeds wasn’t quite as significant, but the iPhone 14 Pro still showed better results.

Here are all the results.

iPhone 14 Pro (Downloads – T-Mobile): 255.91 Mbps

iPhone 13 Pro (Downloads – T-Mobile): 173.81 Mbps

iPhone 14 Pro (Upload – T-Mobile): 28.25 Mbps

iPhone 13 Pro (Upload – T-Mobile): 22.51 Mbps

iPhone 14 Pro (Download – Verizon): 175.56 Mbps

iPhone 13 Pro (Download – Verizon): 126.33 Mbps

iPhone 14 Pro (Upload – Verizon): 27.28 Mbps

iPhone 13 Pro (Upload – Verizon): 21.64 Mbps

SpeedSmart also notes lower average latency for the Apple iPhone 14 Pro. Lower latency means that the device takes less time to communicate with the server, which is crucial for live streaming and online gaming.

For example, the iPhone 14 Pro has an average latency (Ping) of 52.88 milliseconds to connect to T-Mobile and 37.09 milliseconds to connect to Verizon. iPhone 13 Pro has 62.20 milliseconds and 52.24 milliseconds respectively.

Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro does even better thanks to Qualcomm’s new 5G Snapdragon X65 baseband chip. The new 5G X65 baseband chip supports download speeds of up to 10Gbps (compared to 7.5Gbps for the X60) and uses less power than its predecessor.

Notably, the non-Pro models of Apple’s iPhone 14, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, also feature the new 5G Snapdragon X65 baseband chip.
