Apple’s first AR/VR device is about to start mass production claimed to replace the iPhone status in the future

Apple’s entry into the AR/VR and other fields in the technology industry has long been an open “secret”, but a few years down the road, this mysterious product has been only heard in fact, not its people. And now, the new form of products may really be ready to meet with everyone. According to Digitimes latest news, a supply chain source revealed that Apple AR/VR headset is expected to start mass production at the end of 2022 – early 2023, and the main release will fall in 2023.

At present, the upstream and downstream supply chains have already gone through small shipments and verification, and have entered the key stage of design verification testing and starting the whole machine verification one after another.

This is also in line with previous analysis by Apple’s breakout brother Ming-Chi Kuo, who revealed that the device would be released in January 2023 and also stressed that it would be Apple’s most complex product ever designed.

There are reports that the Apple headset has an ultra-high resolution 8K display and advanced eye-tracking technology inside, and will be equipped with up to 15 cameras to accurately identify and track the eye, etc.

Among them, eight cameras will be used to project images into the real world, six cameras for biometrics, and the last camera for environmental detection.

As for the core configuration, the device will probably be equipped with a self-developed chip with more arithmetic power than the M1 chip to support powerful screen output and data calculation, which is one of the important reasons why rumors say it will replace the iPhone in the next 10 years.

It is worth noting that although Apple has equipped it with superb hardware specifications, it is still optimized to be extremely portable and will probably weigh between 300g and 400g, which is a bit heavier than the iPhone.

According to predictions, Apple’s price for this new product will be around $3,000 (about RMB 19,118).
