Apple’s Challenge on Island campaign: Encourages developers to adapt iPhone 14 Pro and Max’s Dynamic Island

On November 4 – Apple released iOS 16.1 on October 25, and the Apple App Store introduced a taste of the new features in iOS 16, including a lock screen, real-time activity, and more. Apple also has a selection of content that users might enjoy, paired with complementary apps and games for a quick look.

With Live Activity, users can stay up to date on the latest information about their favorite apps. Without unlocking the device, you can follow the arrival time of a cab, the latest score of a ball game, or the next alarm reminder on the lock screen. On iPhone 14 Pro, “Live Activity” information also appears on Dynamic Island if the device is unlocked.

To encourage developers, Apple Greater China has launched an App Accelerator online campaign, the latest of which is “Challenge on the Island: Adapting Live Events and Dynamic Island.

Apple’s Greater China Design and Development Accelerator has launched a new challenge that invites development teams to complete Live Events and Dynamic Island adaptations by a deadline.

According to the campaign description, Live Events is used to display the latest information from apps on the iPhone lock screen and on Lively Island to help users see the progress of current tasks and events. By participating in the event, developers will learn how to design and develop real-time events and how to use Lively Island to deliver an even better user experience.

Apple said it will offer themed design and development talks where developers will learn how to design and develop real-time events and how to leverage Lively Island to bring an even better user experience. Participating development teams will be able to sign up for the Live Events and Smart Island Adaptation Challenges on the day of the seminar and receive one-on-one consultation and in-depth coaching after passing the review. Teams that participate in the challenge and can complete the adaptation and launch by December 20, 2022, will have the opportunity to receive more app promotion opportunities. Applications are limited. Please apply by November 8, 2022. To participate, developers must be members of the Apple Developer Program in Greater China.
