The announcement, Apple Apple TV + will soon launch a documentary about the fashion industry in the 80s, called “Supermodels”. It will begin airing on September 20, 2023, with four episodes.
Supermodel focuses on four women who are making a name for themselves in the fashion industry: Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington. They came from different corners of the world, met in New York, and together they changed the power dynamics of an entire industry. They are not only models, but also cultural leaders, showing their influence through charity, business and social activities.
The film, produced by Imagine Documentaries and One Story Up for Apple TV+, is directed by Academy Award winners Roger Ross Williams and Larissa Beals, with the exclusive authorization and participation of the four supermodels. The film takes viewers behind the scenes, both in the studio and on the runway, revealing how they succeed in the competitive world of fashion and the deep friendships they share.
