Apple’s 96W/140W USB-C power adapter sees shipping delays: wait until October at the latest

The 96W and 140W USB-C power adapters for the 14/16-inch MacBook Pro have seen a significant increase in shipping dates. On Apple’s website in the U.S., both power adapters have a shipping date of 6-8 weeks, and will not ship until October 3 at the latest.

However, Apple’s website in China currently shows that the 140W model power adapter is out of stock in offline stores, with shipping dates from August 26 to September 2. The 96W model power adapter is also out of stock in offline stores and is available for order now from September 20 to October 1.

Last week, Apple said it continued to experience supply constraints in the June quarter, but the company does expect the shortage to improve in the September quarter. Shipment estimates for iPhones, iPads, Macs and other devices have improved considerably since early 2022, but there are still significant delays for some products, such as the Mac Studio with M1 Ultra chips and Studio displays with nano-textured glass.
