Apple will reintroduce a new version of HomeKit in the iOS 16.4 update, confirmed by MacRumors, a foreign tech media outlet that was released last December along with the iOS 16.2 update but withdrew the update a week later due to bugs and installation issues.
Apple said at the time that the withdrawal was temporary and that a new version of HomeKit would still follow. foreign developer Nicolas Alvarez found that Apple will re-release a new version of HomeKit in iOS 16.4 after digging into the code. it’s a reminder that the first beta of iOS 16.4 will be released as soon as this week.
The first version of the new Home architecture caused some HomeKit devices to go missing from HomeKit settings or stay in the “configured/updated” state. It also caused invitations to share Home with others to fail and broke HomeKit security video recordings for some users.
