Apple will acquire BIS Records, a famous Swedish classical music label, and plans to incorporate it into Apple Music Classical and Platoon (Appleās label that focuses on discovering new musicians).

BIS Records, a classical music-focused label founded by Robert von Bahr in 1973, is a leader in the classical music world with its vast catalog and exceptional sound quality and just celebrated its 50th anniversary this week.
BIS Records announced today on its official website that it will be acquired by Apple, along with a statement from founder Robert von Bahr.
BIS will become part of Apple Music Classical and Apple-owned label Platoon, which Apple acquired in 2018, a London-based A&R startup focused on discovering emerging music artists.
It is noted that in 2021, Apple announced the acquisition of the classical music streaming service Primephonic. Apple released the Apple Music Classic app in March, which provides a simpler interface dedicated to classical music. Apple Music Classical allows users to search by composer, work, conductor, catalog number, and more, and users can get more detailed information from editor notes and descriptions.
Apple says it has been working with classical music artists and institutions to provide exclusive content and music, and the acquisition of BIS Records appears to be the latest move to strengthen the service.
