The Apple Watch Ultra features a bold new design and a variety of new features for endurance sports, wilderness exploration and adventure activities. The Apple Watch Ultra features a 49mm titanium case with a flat sapphire glass crystal and the largest and brightest Apple Watch display ever.
Apple says Apple Watch Ultra is “inspired by explorers and athletes” and is “a versatile tool that allows users to push their boundaries through adventure, endurance and exploration.”
In true Apple style, Apple designed the device’s retail packaging to reflect its vision. As 3D artist Ian Zelbo shared, the box depicts a magnificent snow-capped mountain landscape surrounded by ominous atmospheric clouds, with the broader landscape overlapping the inner packaging.
Apple says the Apple Watch Ultra’s on-wrist operating temperature range of -20°C to 55°C is sufficient for extreme outdoor adventures.
The box includes the titanium case, your choice of band, and the Apple Watch Magnetic Quick Charger to USB-C cable (1 meter). Apple also says that in keeping with its environmental goals, the Apple Watch no longer comes with a power adapter. The box includes an Apple Watch Magnetic Quick Charger to USB-C cable that supports fast charging and is compatible with USB-C power adapters and computer ports.
Apple says the Apple Watch Ultra is designed to minimize its environmental impact. It is the first Apple Watch to use recycled gold in the plating of multiple printed circuit boards and to use 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets and 100 percent recycled tungsten in the haptic engine. The display glass is arsenic-free, and Apple Watch Ultra is free of mercury, brominated flame retardants (BFRs), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and beryllium. Apple Watch packaging does not use external plastic film, and 98 percent or more of the packaging material is fiber-based, bringing Apple closer to its goal of completely removing plastic from the packaging by the end of 2025.
Apple is now carbon neutral across its global company operations and plans to be 100 percent carbon neutral across its entire manufacturing supply chain and product lifecycle by 2030. That means every Apple device sold will have a net-zero climate impact at all points in its life, from parts manufacturing, assembly, shipping, user use, and charging, through device and material recycling.
Among other features, Apple Watch Ultra features customizable buttons for quick access to a wide range of useful features, and the best battery life of any Apple Watch – up to 36 hours under normal use. And with a new low-power setting, battery life can be extended to up to 60 hours for multiple days of use. Designed for the Apple Watch Ultra’s large display, the “Pathfinder” dial includes a compass integrated into the time display area and offers space for up to eight complications. Apple Watch Ultra also comes with three new bands: the Wild Trail Loopback Band, the Alpine Loopback Band, and the Ocean Band, each uniquely designed to provide a secure and comfortable fit for every adventure.
The new Apple Watch Ultra is now available for pre-order in more than 40 countries worldwide, including China, the U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Germany, India, Japan, and the U.K. Priced at $799 (yuan 6,299 for China), the Apple Watch Ultra will be available in retail stores and begin delivering to customers on September 23.
