The new Apple Watch Ultra is able to measure water temperature while diving, swimming and performing a range of other water sports, thanks to new features, increased durability and a new depth gauge app pre-installed on the watch. the Apple Watch Ultra is the most rugged Apple Watch yet, with features and design elements that are expressly designed for swimmers, divers and athletes.

The new Apple Watch Ultra is also the most water-friendly Apple Watch with EN 13319 certification, the international standard for dive accessories like depth gauges that professional divers rely on.

Specifically, while diving, divers can use a new Depth app that displays several key indicators, including current depth, elapsed time, current water temperature, time spent underwater, and more. While underwater, the Apple Watch Ultra automatically opens the Depth app, making it quick and easy to access key information without having to open it manually.

Apple Watch Ultra is priced at $799 and is available for pre-order following yesterday’s “Far out” launch event.

The Apple Watch Ultra will begin shipping to customers on Friday, September 23.
