Apple launched the Apple Watch Ultra 2 smartwatch, equipped with a new S9 processor, with a second-generation ultra-wideband chip and the brightest Apple Watch display to date.

At 3,000 nits, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 display is the brightest of all Apple Watch displays.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is powered by the S9 chip, which has 60% more transistors and is 30% faster than the S8 chip used in the original Apple Watch Ultra. The S9 chip also has a quad-core neural engine that can speed up neural tasks by a factor of two, according to Apple.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 features a new second-generation ultra-wideband chip that makes it easier to find your iPhone with Apple Watch Ultra and also supports pinpointing.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 also supports the new Double Tap gesture, which taps your index finger and thumb at the same time to answer a call, end a call, pause an alarm, play or pause music, and more – Double Tap will be available next month.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 looks unchanged, with a 95 percent recycled titanium case. There’s also a new Modular Ultra dial, and Night Mode now turns on automatically in the dark thanks to an ambient light sensor. Additionally, the Depth app now keeps a log of each session in the Fitness app.



The Apple Watch Ultra 2 also has 36 hours of battery life and 72 hours in low-power mode.
