Apple Watch Pro HD Rendering: New Design Stronger and More Durable

Ahead of tomorrow’s early morning fall launch, high-resolution renders of the Apple Watch Pro have once again come to light. With these renders, you can get a better look at the smartwatch with a new design, a larger flat screen and new physical buttons.

These renders, a collaboration between renowned concept designers Ian Zelbo and Parker Ortolani, are based on the Apple Watch Pro CAD renders revealed yesterday. Until yesterday, little was known about the expected design of the Apple Watch Pro, except that it would be more rugged for athletes, hikers, runners, and more.

Redesign

The Apple Watch Pro will feature the first major redesign since the Apple Watch Series 4, with a rethought case design to reduce curvature and a completely flat display. Thanks to a flatter top design, the “Apple Watch Pro” display is expected to be much larger than the Series 7 and the upcoming Series 8.

The Apple Watch Pro has a more rugged look and feels, with new protruding housing for the digital crown and side buttons. Both are housed in molds that protrude outward from the right side of the watch, which makes them more accessible. The digital crown itself also gets a redesign to provide a more prominent indentation.

On the left side of the watch, the “Apple Watch Pro” is expected to feature a new physical button similar to the side button. The button is rumored to be configurable to the user’s preferences. It can be customized to open watchOS apps, start a specific workout, or even quickly run a shortcut without having to navigate the watch itself.

Bigger screen

With the larger display on Apple Watch Series 7, Apple has updated the visual elements in watchOS to make better use of the added space. The same is true for Apple Watch Pro and its larger display. Compared to 1.691 inches on the Series 7 and 1.901 inches in the 41 mm and 45 mm sizes, the “Apple Watch Pro” screen measures approximately 1.99 inches in the 49 mm case.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, on the Apple Watch Pro, customers can expect a new dial that takes advantage of the larger display. In addition, according to Gurman, Apple is expected to release a new line of bands designed specifically for the Apple Watch Pro. Existing bands are expected to be compatible with the Apple Watch Pro to some extent, but may not fit perfectly.

The new dials may have space to display metrics from workout and health data collected by the watch. The new dials complement improvements made in watchOS 9 that appear to be tailored to the larger Apple Watch, such as improvements during workouts to display additional metrics on a single screen.

More performance

In addition to the new design and larger display, the “Apple Watch Pro” will likely include all the improvements from Apple Watch Series 8, including a new temperature sensor. Unlike a typical thermometer, the temperature sensor is unlikely to provide the wearer with a direct temperature reading in earlier iterations.

Price

With a new design, larger display and more durable materials, the Apple Watch Pro is expected to sell for between $900 and $1,000. This new watch will be the most expensive Apple Watch to date and could replace the Apple Watch Edition at the top of the line.
