Apple Watch Pro Case Revealed: Square Case and Flatter Display

This year, there are reports that Apple is preparing to launch three new Apple Watch models, including the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2, and a rugged Apple Watch Pro for athletes.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch Pro will debut with a new design that “improves on the form factor since Series 4.

According to images posted by Weibo blogger @UnclePan Uncle Pan, you can basically tell what the watch will look like from the Apple Watch Series 8 Pro’s accessories, which feature a new square case design.

The blogger notes that the “Pro is not square in the traditional sense, but a new form,” and the case does suggest that the body of the watch will have rounded edges, while the top edge of the chassis display will be flat and possibly flush with a flatter screen than the Apple Watch Series 7 model, potentially providing better all-around protection against impacts.

The digital crown and side buttons on the right also have several holes that look larger than usual: one round, one pill-shaped, and what are usually the device’s two thin speaker slit strips. Whether these are to accommodate the new speaker design or additional physical buttons is unclear.

Sonny Dickson also later tweeted the following image, which shows more clearly the accessories allegedly designed for the Apple Watch Pro.

The Apple Watch Pro is expected to have a larger screen (expanding to 1.99 inches) and battery, use the S8 chip and include a body temperature sensor. The model will also feature a sturdy titanium case and is expected to cost $900 to $1,000.

Apple will announce the new iPhone 14 lineup at its “Ultra Preview” event on September 8, according to the leak. The lineup will include the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus (or iPhone 14 Max), 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. The new lineup will mark the end of the road for the 5.4-inch “mini” form factor. The new lineup will mark the end of the road for the 5.4-inch “mini” form factor, which has only been released in two generations: iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini.

Apple is also expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 8, the faster Apple Watch SE 2, and the new rugged Apple Watch Pro. According to Gurman, the AirPods Pro 2 is also expected to be announced during the event.
