According to the list published by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has been granted a patent numbered “US 11650068 B2” for “recommending navigation routes based on localized route rankings” to improve the driving experience. The patent is entitled “Suggesting Navigation Routes Based on Localized Route Rankings” and improves the driving experience for car owners.
Apple said that on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and other computing devices that support running map applications, it makes full use of various data from network service providers to help users plan their routes rationally and reach their destinations faster and more comfortably.
Attaches patent-related information as follows: Apple obtains map images, navigation data, estimated travel time, estimated arrival time, traffic conditions and other data through various map services, and makes reasonable planning based on users’ travel destinations and preferences.
For example, if a user’s navigation path is congested due to a traffic accident, the user is promptly notified and recommended to switch to a more reasonable route.
