Apple supplier Salcomp to boost India workforce to nearly 25,000

Apple supplier Salcomp plans to more than double its workforce in India to nearly 25,000 in the next 2-3 years, executives at Apple supplier Salcomp said today.

Salcomp, a major supplier of Apple’s iPhone chargers, is also building a large residential complex that could entertain and educate 15,000 people, the executive added.

Salcomp is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of chargers and adapters. Its product line covers phones, tablets, smart home products, personal electronics, etc. For electronic product safety production certification, the main customers are phone and tablet computer brands and manufacturers.

Founded in Finland in 1973, the company was acquired in 2019 by Lingyi Zhizao in Shenzhen, China, for 88 million euros in cash, part of which will be used to repay the latter’s bank debt.
