The Apple TV+ alternate reality space drama “For All Mankind” is returning for a fourth season with a storyline that will take place in the 2000s. On Friday, Apple announced that the latest season of its hit sci-fi series will begin filming in August. The show tells the story of the U.S.-Soviet space race in an alternate reality development timeline, which begins with the story set after the Soviet Union defeats the United States and lands on the moon first.
Each season of “For All Mankind” tells a story from a different era, with the third season taking place in the 1990s.
At San Diego Comic-Con, the show’s writing and the directing team confirmed that the fourth season will focus on events that take place in the 2000s.
In December, USA Today named For All Mankind the best TV show of 2021, praising it for presenting solutions to some of the problems left behind in 20th century America.
