Apple releases Studio Display 16.4 firmware update with new support for screen calibration tools

Apple today pushed a 16.4 firmware update to the Studio Display monitor that adds support for the new Pro Display Calibrator feature and improves stability.

Studio Display to their Mac devices to update the firmware version. Go to System Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates.

  • Added support for display field recalibration using Pro display Calibrator. Enabled specific color workflows that may require custom calibration via the internal spectroradiometer.
  • Slight stability improvements.

Apple’s Studio Display is powered by the A13 Bionic chip, which first launched with the iPhone 11 series in 2019. So far, Apple has released three firmware updates for the Studio Display.

Note that Studio Display firmware update 16.4 requires that the Mac connected to the display be running the latest version of macOS Ventura 13.3.
