Apple today announced the updated Apple Watch Series 8 at its “Far out” event, which includes a similar form factor to the Series 7 but includes a larger display that brings updates to health, security, connectivity and more. The new Apple Watch 8 Series has a larger screen, the same basic design, a new watch interface, and a brighter screen thus making it easier to read with the wrist down.

This is made possible by two new motion sensors: an improved gyroscope and a new accelerometer. series 8 can detect collisions of the most common vehicle types, and all the data will be processed on the device.

The Apple Watch Series 8 features 18 hours of battery performance throughout the day, and with the upgrade to watchOS 9, Series 4 and higher devices can get a low-power mode that extends battery life to 36 hours on a full charge.
