The MagSafe Battery Pack has received a firmware update that will allow it to charge an Apple iPhone slightly quicker. This means that the MagSafe Battery Pack can charge an iPhone up to 7.5W when it is disconnected from the power grid. It is a significant improvement over the original MagSafe Battery Pack’s 15W charging capacity. It was previously limited to charging at a maximum of 5W while on the go.
Apple’s support page now has the option to update MagSafe Battery Packs. To keep your Pack up to date, you can use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
