Apple’s new Mac Pro appeared in the Geekbench database, with a Metal score of 312585 points, and some information about the M2 Ultra chip was also exposed. The M2 Ultra chip has a basic frequency of 3.68 GHz, 12 cores (8+4), a first-level instruction cache of 128 KB, a data cache of 64 KB, and a second-level cache of 4 MB.
It was previously reported that Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple is testing two new Mac desktops with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips. The two new Mac desktops are codenamed Mac 14,13 and Mac14,14, respectively. The new machine will use the M2 Max chip, which has a 12-core CPU and a 30-core GPU, and supports up to 96GB of memory. The new machine also provides a configuration version equipped with the M2 Ultra chip.
According to Bloomberg, the M2 Ultra chip was originally designed for the Apple Silicon Mac Pro, but due to unclear progress in the design of that model, Apple decided to use the chip in the Mac Studio.
The WWDC 2023 Developers Conference will be held on June 6, and Apple will showcase its latest software and hardware products to a global audience through online live broadcast.
