According to Hardware Unboxed’s test data, the Apple M2 Macbook performed well in Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Shadow of the Tomb Raider, outperforming the R7 6800U, which currently has the most powerful core graphics on the PC, according to IT House on July 7.

The testers used a full-blooded version of the M2 with 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. To be fair, the power consumption of the R7 6800U was kept at 25W, and it should be noted that this power consumption does not allow the full performance of the 6800U core.

In game testing, the M2 narrowly beats the 25W R7 6800U at 1920 x 1200 resolution at Medium, High and Maximum settings.

Compared to the M1, the M2’s CPU is not much better, but the GPU is, thanks mainly to the addition of 2 GPU cores and faster LPDDR5 memory. Reviewers say the M2 GPU performance has improved by 35% compared to the M1, with floating point performance reaching 3.6 TFLOPs.

IT Home has learned that the M2-powered MacBook Pro 13 is already available for $9,999 for 8GB + 256GB, and the M2-powered MacBook Air will go on sale on July 15 for $9,499 for 8GB + 256GB.
