Apple today released tvOS 16.4, the fourth major update to its tvOS 16 operating system, which was introduced last September. tvOS 16.4 is available for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD, two months after the last release of tvOS 16.3.
tvOS 16.4 system updates can be downloaded OTA through Apple TV’s Settings app by going to System > Software Update. If users have automatic software updates turned on, their Apple TV will automatically be updated to tvOS 16.4.
Apple tvOS updates are usually small and focus on internal bug fixes and improvements. This update adds “Dim the Flash,” an accessibility feature that automatically reduces the brightness of the display when a flash or strobe effect is detected in a video, and includes performance and stability improvements.
