Earlier this month, Apple first launched an official design kit containing iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 resources for Figma users. Now that the visionOS SDK is officially available to developers, Apple is also offering a new Design Kit for those who want to create app mockups for the Apple Vision Pro operating system.
According to Apple, “Apple’s first visionOS Design Kit provides Figma with a comprehensive set of UI components, views, system interfaces, text styles, color styles and materials, which are all you need to quickly create highly realistic visionOS application designs. core elements needed.”
Figma is an interface design tool that enables users to work with vector graphics and prototyping. Figma has been used and loved by designers creating for Apple platforms long before Apple officially embraced the community. Earlier this year, Figma released the FigJam app for iPad, and has also been working on an iPadOS version of its full software.
Apple has in the past offered a design suite for Adobe XD, a platform similar to Figma. However, after Adobe announced that it was acquiring Figma, XD was officially discontinued.
In addition to the visionOS design suite, Figma users can also use the official design suite with iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma interface resources, which include home screen and lock screen elements, notifications, text styles, materials, and more.
Users can get the new official visionOS design kit on the Figma website. This kit is still in beta, and some things may change, because visionOS and Apple Vision Pro will not be officially available until early 2024. Before using the visionOS library, please make sure to install the latest version of SF Symbols.
