Apple Launches Ask Apple Event to Let Developers Communicate Directly with Experts

According to Apple’s website, Apple announced the launch of Ask Apple, a new interactive Q&A and one-on-one consulting series that provides developers with more opportunities to communicate directly with Apple experts for insight, support and feedback.

Developers who participate in Ask Apple can consult on a variety of topics, including testing the latest seed; deploying new or updated frameworks released at WWDC; adapting new features such as Lingering Island; switching to Swift, SwiftUI, and development assistance; preparing apps in advance for new OS and hardware releases; and more. Registration is open to all Apple Developer Program and Apple Developer Enterprise Program members at no cost to Apple.

"Ask Apple allows developers to ask questions to members of various Apple teams through a question and answer session on Slack or through one-on-one "office hours" consultations. Through Q&A, developers can contact Apple evangelists, engineers and designers directly to solve problems, share insights and connect with other developers around the world. "Developers can seek code-level assistance, design guidance, support for deployment technologies and frameworks, problem-solving advice, or help with the App Store Review Guidelines and distribution tools. "Office Hours will be available in multiple languages and in all time zones around the world."

We’ve seen a growing demand from developers for one-on-one support and opportunities to talk with Apple experts.” Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, Enterprise and Education Product Marketing, said, “Our team is committed to continuing to grow our support for the diverse global developer community. We’re excited to offer them another new resource: Ask Apple.”

Ask Apple builds on the success of Tech Talks and Meet with App Store Experts, which have provided developers with more than 200 live presentations and thousands of hours of “office hours” over the past year.

The first round of Ask Apple, an ongoing series of events, will run from October 17-21. apple to register and receive schedule information.

In addition to the Ask Apple series, developers can access hundreds of hours of on-demand sessions on the Apple Developer website and the Apple Developer App to learn about the latest technologies and important news directly from Apple in one place. The website and App are available year-round, providing developers with convenient access anytime, anywhere. Developers have access to a rich library of timely, relevant and useful content from Apple experts and engineers, including news, project announcements and technical articles on everything from API and framework changes to Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, as well as a library of technical and design videos. Apple also offers all Apple Developer Program members access to one-on-one code-level support from technical support engineers to resolve App code issues or provide solutions to accelerate development.
