Bloomberg Mark Gurman (Mark Gurman) revealed that Apple plans to add a USB-C port for more accessories after abandoning the Lightning interface in the iPhone 15 series.
Gurman also mentioned that Apple will have to release a new version of the MagSafe Duo wireless charger that supports USB-C (the current version was released in 2020 and can power two devices at once, including the AirPods, Apple Watch and iPhone). Additionally, he discussed the new MagSafe external battery.

While he’s not sure if either of these products will be unveiled at this week’s new launch event, he did say that Apple is working on a new MagSafe accessory that just might not be ready for release yet.
Gurman explains that the new MagSafe External Battery involves a new concept that allows users to charge multiple devices at the same time by stacking multiple battery packs at the same time, as well as charging multiple devices at the same time with a single battery – for example, charging two iPhones at the same time by simply placing one of them on one side of the MagSafe External Battery. Of course, the new MagSafe external battery will also come with a USB-C connector.

Gurman said he doesn’t think Apple’s new AirPods Pro charging case with USB-C will be called the “third-generation AirPods Pro”. He said the third-generation AirPods Pro, due next year or early 2025, will be a big update.
