Apple is developing the fourth-generation iPhone SE phone and plans to carry out major design reforms. There have been multiple reports before that, unlike the previous iPhone SE 3, which used a home button, the new model will adopt a full-screen design and cancel the physical home button. The overall appearance will be in line with the latest iPhone models. Recently, spy photos of the iPhone SE 4 case were exposed on the Internet, showing the appearance and size of the device.
It was reported last week that the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with an OLED display from BOE. The screen size is expected to be 6.1 inches and will use a Face ID sensor with a hole in the screen to replace the Touch ID fingerprint recognition of the physical Home button. This revision will Completely abandon the old design of the iPhone 6 era.
From the appearance point of view, iPhone SE 4 will borrow design elements from iPhone 14, using a right-angled frame design with a small notch in the top center to accommodate the front camera and Face ID sensor. Leaked images of the case confirm the rumor and reveal that the notch will be similar in size to the iPhone 13 series.
The back of the phone will feature a single rear camera design with flash and microphone. Although the camera sensor has increased compared to the previous generation, the overall layout is similar to the iPhone XR. In addition, the rear camera does not protrude from the body plane like some models, but is directly integrated on the back cover glass.
It is noticed that some design details were also leaked on the side of the iPhone SE 4 case. The opening design above the volume button indicates that the device will not be equipped with the previously rumored “Action Button”. Previous speculation was that the iPhone SE 4 would adopt a design similar to the iPhone 14 and add “function keys”, but the opening on the phone case was more likely to be designed for a mute button.
It’s unclear whether Apple will ultimately adopt a mute key or a “function key”. Since it is still a long time before release, the final design of iPhone SE 4 may still change.
