The source Majin Bu today in X (Twitter) tweet, shared a set of iPhone 15 tempered film photos.
The first image shows photos of the glass covers for the iPhone 15 series in two different screen sizes, and you can see the perforations in the Spirit Island area.
The other three photos are different, however, and are of a dot adhesive tempered film with no perforation at the top, indicating that the bezel has indeed narrowed.
According to the investigation of foreign technology media AppleInsider, the source of the first picture can not be confirmed, while the other three photos are from a domestic research company specializing in the study of protective film.
Majin Bu also shared a design sketch of the iPhone 15 Pro, but later confirmed that the news was false and based on a modification by @wilson_boi_101.
It was previously cited Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who reported that thanks to new low-pressure injection molding (LIPO) technology, Apple will reduce the bezel size of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max from 2.2 mm to 1.5 mm.
Mark Gurman says that this year, two of the biggest changes to the 15 series will bring Apple closer to the iPhone of its dreams. the standard iPhone 15 models will feature a dynamic island screen, while the Pro and Pro Max displays will be made using a new technology: low-pressure injection molding, or “LIPO” as it’s known internally by Apple.
The new process reduces the size of the bezel around the display to 1.5 millimeters (current iPhones have a bezel of about 2.2 millimeters.) LIPO was first used on the Apple Watch Series 7, making the device’s bezel narrower and increasing the size of the display. It’s my understanding that Apple eventually plans to bring this feature to the iPad as well.
