Market research firm TrendForce recently released a report saying that Apple will “increase the memory capacity and specifications of the iPhone 15 series models”. Only the report did not mention the specific memory details.
Apple has been offering 6GB for the Pro models since the launch of the iPhone 12 series, and TrendForce has previously said that the iPhone 15 Pro models could come with 8GB of memory, expanding on the existing iPhone 14 Pro (6GB).
The standard iPhone 15 model will still have 6GB of memory, but both models will be upgraded to faster LPDDR5 memory.
This increase in memory allows more apps to be open in the background at the same time, which facilitates multitasking on iPhone. With the upcoming iOS 17, this increase in memory capacity will further improve overall performance.
