Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max DXOMARK image score is out, scored 154 points, ranked second in the DXOMARK image ranking, and Huawei P60 Pro with 156 points ranked first.
DXOMARK’s evaluation of the imaging capabilities of iPhone 15 Pro Max:
As a new-generation flagship model, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is particularly outstanding in portrait photography, capturing fine details and rendering accurate skin tone rendering and facial exposure in a variety of lighting conditions. The updated and enhanced HDR (High Dynamic Range) imaging not only highlights the subject, but also provides beautiful contrast throughout the image. iPhone 15 Pro Max features a new periscope telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom for outstanding detail capture, which is a significant improvement over its predecessor's zoom capabilities.
For video, DXOMARK engineers tested the device at 4K resolution, 60fps frame rate, and with Dolby vision activated, and the device demonstrated its best video performance to date. With its wide dynamic range, excellent and consistent exposure and natural color rendering, precise autofocus, and excellent stabilization, the iPhone 15 Pro Max once again set a new industry standard with the highest score in the video subcategory of its predecessor.
On the downside: iPhone 15 Pro Max's image performance is not stable enough across different zoom ranges, with limited zoom image quality before switching to telephoto lenses; grainy photos taken in low-light environments are more noticeable; some flare, ghosting, and aliasing sometimes occur; and the innovative technology of HDR image quality is currently only visible in the Apple ecosystem.The iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 48MP rear main camera + 12MP ultra wide-angle + 12MP telephoto, with the 12MP telephoto featuring a quad-reflective prism design, 5x optical zoom, 3D sensor-shift optical image stabilization, and autofocus.
