Apple iPhone 14 Pro has 6GB of LPDDR5 memory performance faster and more efficient

0

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have 6GB of faster RAM compared to last year’s iPhone 13 Pro, which helps make the overall device performance faster and more efficient. A teardown of the iPhone 14 Pro earlier today revealed that it features Qualcomm’s X65 5G modem, offering faster 5G speeds and lower power consumption.

The same teardown findings also confirm that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feature a newer and faster LPDDR5 memory, compared to the LPDDR4X memory used in the previous iPhone 13 Pro.

Like last year’s iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 14 Pro still features the same 6GB of RAM, but overall performance will benefit from the newer LPDDR5 memory type.

As rumored, the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are still expected to feature LPDDR4X memory (not yet confirmed), along with the A15 Bionic chip from last year’s high-end iPhone (so the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are essentially categorized as previous generation products in the product version number).

According to Apple, the A16 Bionic chip in the iPhone 14 Pro features a 50% increase in memory bandwidth, in line with the expected increase from the move to LPDDR5 memory. iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feature the new A16 Bionic chip, which Apple says is “the fastest chip in a smartphone”.
