Apple iPhone 14 foundry PEGATRON reports revenue of TWD 352.867 billion in Q3, up 9.3% year-over-year

Bloomberg – PEGATRON, the iPhone 14 foundry, today announced its third-quarter 2022 financial results, according to Taiwan’s Central News Agency. The data shows that PEGATRON’s consolidated revenue for the third quarter of this year was approximately TWD 352.867 billion (approximately RMB 80.454 billion), up 24.4 percent sequentially and 9.3 percent year-over-year, mainly due to better demand for information products and communication product shipments.

During the reporting period, PEGATRON achieved net income after tax attributable to the parent company of approximately TWD 5.265 billion (approximately RMB 1.2 billion), up 69% sequentially and 97.3% year-over-year; operating income of TWD 7.632 billion (approximately RMB 1.74 billion), up 16.5% sequentially and 82.8% year-over-year; and non-operating income of TWD 1.239 billion (approximately RMB 282 million), up 4.2 times sequentially. Revenue from non-business activities increased 4.2 times year-over-year and 95.1% year-over-year.

In terms of profitability, PEGATRON’s gross margin was 4.6 percent in the third quarter, down 0.5 percentage points sequentially and up 1 percentage point year-over-year, while operating margin was 2.2 percent, down 0.1 percentage points sequentially and up 0.9 percentage points year-over-year.

PEGATRON said its revenue from information products and communication products grew 4 percent and 41 percent, respectively, in the third quarter of this year, while revenue from consumer electronics products was flat in the third quarter compared with the second quarter, benefiting from better demand for shipments.

Compared with the same period last year, PEGATRON’s revenue from consumer electronics and communication products grew 18% and 8% year-over-year, respectively; revenue from information products decreased 7% year-over-year in the third quarter due to weaker terminal demand.
