Apple iPad mini 3 cellular Wi-Fi models will soon be listed as discontinued

Apple will mark all Wi-Fi-only and cellular models of the iPad mini 3 as Obsolete within a few weeks, according to a memo obtained by MacRumors.

Currently, only certain cellular models of iPad mini 3 are marked as Obsolete, but that will change soon. iPad mini 3 maintains the same design as its predecessor, but with improved performance.

Apple is designating the product as discontinued seven years after it was last sold. All hardware services for discontinued products are discontinued, and service providers cannot order parts for discontinued devices.

Apple iPad mini 3 was released in October 2014 with an A7 chip and Touch ID fingerprint recognition. It has a 7.9-inch screen, a 5-megapixel iSight camera with 1080P HD recording and support for Apple Pay.
