The Apple Apple Watch has previously had a Find iPhone feature that allows users to tap the phone icon on the dial (or long press) to activate the iPhone’s ringtone and find a nearby iPhone.
Apple even made an ad for this feature:
In the latest beta version of iOS 17, Apple has added a reverse version of this feature for the iPhone, which allows you to ping your iPhone to your Apple Watch and find a nearby watch through the Apple Watch ringtone.
One can find this Control Center tile feature in iOS 17, which is currently turned off by default at
- Open Settings
- Tap Control Center
- Swipe down and tap the + button next to Ping My Watch
- Swipe down from the top right corner (or the bottom of the Home button phone) to open the Control Center
- Tap the new Ping My Watch button
This feature is only good if you’re in close proximity, so if your iPhone can’t connect to your Apple Watch via Bluetooth, it’s better to use the regular Remote Find feature.
