Apple hires ex-Lamborghini executive to join electric car project

0

Apple has hired former Lamborghini executive Luigi Borrelli to help design an electric car for the company, the company said on July 28. Borrelli worked at Lamborghini for nearly 20 years and was responsible for the development of the car’s chassis and power engineering, as well as the design of suspension components, wheels and tires, steering and braking systems, exhaust systems, fuel systems, and driver assistance technologies.

There have been rumors since 2014 that Apple is developing an electric car, with the project being led by Kevin Lynch, who is part of the Apple Watch team, and John Giannandrea, Apple’s head of machine learning, who is also one of the leaders.

Analysts believe Apple will mass produce electric cars by 2025. From past rumors, Apple’s car project is not going well, with leadership changes all the time, many technical challenges, and a possible delay in the car’s launch.
