Apple foundry Foxconn and Pegatron both said that they will include Southeast Asia in their expansion plans for 2023, according to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News.
Foxconn Chairman Liu Yangwei said yesterday that the group continues to expand its scale in mainland China, the Americas and Southeast Asia, with new customers continuing to join this year and more diversified business, and overseas layout will blossom one after another.
However, Foxconn did not specify the planned expansion in which Southeast Asian countries. For electric vehicles, Foxconn has been in Taiwan, the United States, Thailand, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia and other places to establish an electric vehicle-related production base.
For this year’s non-China production capacity layout, PEGATRON public capital expenditure this year will amount to $300 million (about 2.013 billion RMB) – $350 million (about 2.348 billion RMB), roughly the same as last year, mainly for Southeast Asia, Mexico plant expansion plans.
