This year’s U.S. version of the iPhone 14 series abolished the physical SIM card slot, but the use of eSIM (the Chinese name for “embedded cell phone card”, is electronic SIM card) instead of SIM card slot, this move is also considered to be part of Apple’s promotion of eSIM universal access.

Apple says the eSIM is more secure than a physical SIM because it can’t be lost or stolen. Apple also says that eSIMs don’t have the hassle of sending, carrying, and replacing physical SIM cards.
Apple support documents also state that the iPhone XS and newer models can store eight or more eSIMs, and that iPhone 13 and newer models can have two eSIMs activated at the same time, one for use where you live and one for use where you travel. And the activation of one of the stored eSIMs can be changed in the settings.
The support document states that users can purchase an eSIM from their local carrier when traveling abroad or purchase a prepaid eSIM from a global service provider. users can activate unlocked iPhone 14 models purchased in the United States through more than 400 carriers in 100 markets worldwide that support eSIM, and many global service providers also offer prepaid eSIM traffic packages for long-term use in Many global service providers also offer prepaid eSIM traffic packages for long-term use in countries around the world.
