Apple announces increase in fees for regional apps and in-app purchases

0

Apple today announced that starting as early as October 5, the price of App Store apps and in-app purchases will increase in all countries that use the euro, with the increase due to the current weakness of the euro against the US dollar.

The official announcement reads

Effective October 5, 2022, at the earliest, prices for apps and in-app purchases (except auto-renewing subscriptions) on the App Store will increase in Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, Vietnam and all regions that use the euro currency. In Vietnam, the price increase reflects a new requirement for Apple to withhold and pay applicable taxes, including a 5 percent value-added tax (VAT) and a 5 percent corporate income tax (CIT).

Your earnings will be adjusted accordingly and will be calculated based on the price excluding tax. Appendix B of the Paid App Agreement will be updated to indicate that Apple collects and remits applicable taxes in Vietnam.

The Price and Sales Coverage section of My App will be updated as soon as these adjustments take effect. You can change the price of your App and in-App purchases (including auto-renewing subscriptions) at any time in App Store Connect. If you offer a subscription, you can choose to keep the current price for existing subscribers.
