Last week, Apple’s iOS 16.1 Beta 3 extended the Adaptive Pass-through mode introduced in the second-generation AirPods Pro to the first-generation AirPods Pro. Now, some users have confirmed that Adaptive Pass-through mode will also work with the AirPods Max headphones.
According to MacRumors, users are reporting that Apple AirPods Max headphones running the latest 5A304a firmware, in both iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 beta, can have Adaptive Pass-through enabled in the AirPods Max section of settings.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 are equipped with the H2 chip, and the Adaptive Pass-through mode is claimed to harness the power of the H2 chip to significantly reduce the intensity of loud noises such as honking horns or power tools, so users can comfortably hear the sounds around them.
Apple iOS 16.1 also enables battery percentage for more iPhone models, including iPhone 11 and iPhone 13 mini. Apple has tweaked the battery indicator to a dynamic icon and added an API for real-time activity.
